Child

In 2005 the "Child" series was conceived. The "Child" series was made in serene, illuminated concrete surroundings. Advanced modern architecture, immense contemporary temples of culture. In these buildings, mainly museums, childeren have been meticulously positioned. The tiny creatures contrast sharply with the austere, grey surroundings, thus creating an increasing sense of isolation and stillness.

Wherever he goes, Polman is always searching for museums constructed in concrete and designed with a tight interplay of lines. His list with temples of culture by now figures buildings in The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland and Spain. The idea behind this series stems from the "Indigo series": once again, children in the contrast of light and dark.
